helicopter crew saves a life dps ranger

A DPS helicopter crew found a 34-Year old phoenix man stranded in a very precarious position on a small ledge in the Sycamore Canyon north of Clarkdale after falling earlier in the day on May 13th according to a release from Yavapai County Sheriff Office Media Relations Coordinator Dwight D’Evelyn.

The man was reported missing by his sister at just before 8pm on May 13th and was located after seven hours of searching but due to nightfall, the rescue effort had to take place at daybreak the next morning, the release stated.

By 7am, the patient was being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center, according to the release. The man left detailed instructions to where he was going and told his sister to call if he had not returned by 6pm, the release stated.

While the man did leave instructions, The Yavapai County Sheriff Office urges people not to hike alone in rugged wilderness areas as they are dangerous and could cost someone their life.
