#LISTEN Online - 60 Sec News Update

Diana Green was picked to be Humboldt Elementary School’s new principal for the upcoming school year at the Humboldt Unified School board meeting on Tuesday night.

Following retirement from her nearly thirty-year career working various positions in school districts, retirement wasn’t all it was cracked up to be for Green and she was looking for some work when an opportunity presented itself to fill the vacant spot at Humboldt Elementary.

Humboldt Unified School District Superintendent Daniel Streeter was thrilled to have Green back in the district who had previously been the principal of Granville Elementary.

Meanwhile, current principal Lisa Uvila is moving back to her home state of Washington to become the principal of Monument Elementary School in Quincy, Washington.

Upon arrival, Green mentioned she will work with the staff to determine the school’s current level of academic achievement and set a goal to where they want to be, something Green has done throughout her career which includes several different stints as a principal.
