NORTHERN ARIZONA SUNS

Eli Millsap dropped 38 points and 11 rebounds but it wasn’t enough as the Northern Arizona Suns lost their final game of the season against the Reno Bighorns 124-116. In their inaugural season, the NAZ Suns finished at 22-28-just out of a playoff spot.

PRESCOTT BADGERS

The Prescott Badgers baseball team beat the Coronado Dons 8-2 during a snowstorm on Friday. The win marked the second in their last three games after previously losing six straight. Prescott High School is 2-5 overall with a 1-3 section mark and look to keep it going against rival Lee Williams on the road Tuesday at 3:45pm.

The Badger softball team also had success against Coronado, beating the Dons 20-0 on the road. The win was the team’s second in a row and their seventh overall while only sporting two losses. Prescott High School is back in section play, where they are 3-2, against Lee Williams at home on Tuesday at 3:45pm.

In the Centennial Tournament, the Badgers volleyball team picked up their first win overall against Goldwater and went 1-4 for sixth place. Badgers have a road game against the Centennial Coyotes on Tuesday. Game time is 5:30pm.

BRADSHAW MOUNTAIN BEARS

It has been a struggle recently for the Bradshaw Mountain High School baseball team as the Bears have lost three in a row after dropping Thursday’s contest against Mingus 8-3. Bradshaw Mountain now stands at .500 with a 4-4 record and a 3-4 region mark. The team looks to reverse their luck against Mohave at home on Tuesday. First pitch is 3:45pm.

Meanwhile, the Bears softball team has also been sliding a bit lately-losing their second straight game against Mingus on Thursday 9-0. The defeat drops the Bears overall record to 5-4 with a 3-4 mark in the Grand Canyon section. While the baseball team is at home on Tuesday, the softball team hits the road for a matchup against Mohave on Tuesday. First pitch is 3:45pm.

CHINO VALLEY COUGARS

The Chino Valley Cougars baseball team had their five game winning streak snapped on Saturday during a 3-2 road loss against Snowflake on Saturday. Now at 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the region, Cougars look to start a new streak against the Northwest Christian Crusaders Tuesday on the road at 3:45pm.

Meanwhile, the Cougars softball team had a tough day on the road Saturday, losing to Snowflake 16-0. The defeat was their second in a row as the team sits at 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the region. Cougars look to respond against Northwest Christian on the road Tuesday. First pitch is 3:45pm.

YAVAPAI COLLEGE ROUGHRIDERS

The Yavapai College Roughrider baseball team split a doubleheader against Gateway Community College on Saturday, losing the first game 4-2 but waking up in the second matchup for a 12-7 win. The Roughriders now stand at 23-17 overall and 9-11 in the ACCAC. Roughriders now hit the road for a doubleheader against Glendale Community College on Tuesday at noon before returning home on Saturday for a doubleheader against Mesa

Community College.

Meanwhile, the ACCAC first place Roughrider softball team continues to dominate the competition with another doubleheader mercy-rule sweep on Friday against Glendale Community College. Overall the team outscored Glendale 24-2 in the wins with a no-hitter in game two. The record now stands at an impressive 35-4 overall with a 31-3 ACCAC mark. Yavapai College remains at home for a doubleheader against Mesa Community College on Tuesday. First pitch is noon.

EMBRY RIDDLE EAGLES

Embry Riddle softball team split a doubleheader against University of Antelope Valley on Saturday as the Eagles lost game one 5-4 before winning 9-6 in game two. The Eagles now at 16-24, take on Benedictine University in a doubleheader on Thursday at home beginning at 1:00pm.

PHOENIX SUNS

The Phoenix Suns lost their 12th game in a row on Sunday, dropping a home matchup against the Houston Rockets 123-116. Phoenix has a record of 22-56 and sit at the bottom of the Western Conference. The season rolls on as the Golden State Warriors come to town Wednesday for a 7pm tip-off.

ARIZONA COYOTES

After losing four straight games, the Arizona Coyotes have won two straight-beating the LA Kings 2-1 on Sunday. Coyotes sit a 29-41-9 on the year, good for seventh in the Pacific Division. Coyotes end the quick two-game road trip with the Dallas Stars on Tuesday at 5:30pm.

ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

What an Opening Day for the Arizona Diamondbacks! The snakes came-back from a deficit three times to walk-off the rival San Francisco Giants 6-5 on Sunday. In the game, San Francisco pitcher Madison Bumgarner hit two homers, an Opening Day record. Patrick Corbin is on the bump for Arizona against Johnny Cueto of the Giants when the series resumes at Chase Field on Tuesday. First pitch is 6:40pm.
