NAZ Suns
The Northern Arizona Suns erased a twenty-four-point deficit and beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Sunday afternoon at the Prescott Valley Event Center 127-123. The victory brings the team back to a .500 as the NAZ Suns sit four games out of a playoff spot with eight games to go.
Prescott Badgers
It was a tough showing at the Boras Baseball Classic for Prescott Badgers baseball as the team went 1-3 over the tournament. Badgers look to jump back against the Estrella Foothills Wolves on the road Wednesday at 3:45pm.
Meanwhile, after a crushing 14-2 loss against Mingus on Thursday, the Badgers softball team responded nicely with a 11-1 win on Friday at home. Prescott High School softball remains at home for a matchup with the Estrella Foothills Wolves on Monday at 2pm.
The Badgers boys’ volleyball team could not upset the Boulder Creek Jaguars on Tuesday and were swept 3-0. Badgers look to pick up their first win of the season on Monday in a road matchup against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs.
Bradshaw Mountain Bears
Following a win at home against the Flagstaff Eagles on Tuesday, The Bradshaw Mountain Bears baseball team could not keep up the momentum against the Eagles on the road Thursday, losing 9-8. Bears sit a 3-1 with a 2-1 conference record as the team prepares for a matchup against Lee Williams on the road next Tuesday, March 21st, at 3:45pm.
The Bradshaw Mountain softball team also had similar luck against the Eagles last week, winning the game at home 6-4 on Monday but dropping the road matchup against the Eagles on Tuesday 11-10. At 3-2 with a 1-2 region record, the Bears now participate in the Grace Lee Haught Memorial Tournament on Thursday against the Dobson Mustangs on the road at Rumsey Park.
Chino Valley Cougars
Last Monday, the Chino Valley Cougars baseball team picked up their second straight win to begin the season with a 11-3 victory against Camp Verde on the road. Cougars are back on the home field against Bagdad on Friday at 3:45pm.
However, the Cougar softball team could not have the same luck and lost to the Camp Verde Cowboys on the road last Monday 7-5. At 1-1 overall, the team now looks toward a home game against Bagdad on Friday at 3:45pm.
Yavapai College Roughriders
The Yavapai College baseball team had a good performance on the mound in game one but faltered in game two as the Roughriders split a doubleheader on Saturday agiainst Pima Community College. Yavapai College now sits at 14-12 on the year with a 3-7 mark in the ACCAC. Roughriders remain at home for a doubleheader on Tuesday against Benedictine University at noon.
Well, all good things must come to an end sooner or later as the Roughrider softball team had their 17 game winning streak broken on Saturday in a doubleheader split against Eastern Arizona College on the road. Yavapai College now stands at a sparking 24-3 overall record while going 20-2 in the ACCAC. Roughriders continue ACCAC action on Thursday at home against Gateway Community College in a doubleheader starting at noon.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns lost their third game out of their four on Sunday with a 110-101 defeat against the Trail Blazers at home. Now sporting a 22-45 mark, the Suns look to turn their recent fortune against the Sacramento Kings at home on Wednesday. Tip-off is 7pm.
Arizona Coyotes
On Saturday the Arizona Coyotes were able to beat the New Jersey Devils 5-4 thanks to three goals in the opening period. Coyotes are back on the ice today for a home game against the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drops at 7pm.
