Northern Arizona Suns
The Northern Arizona Suns are back at .500 record as the team was able to pick up a 117-113 win on Sunday afternoon against the first-place Los Angeles Defenders by draining an impressive 17 three-pointers while also surviving a 44 point third quarter by Los Angeles. Next up is a matchup against another first place team as the Raptors 905 visit the Prescott Valley Event Center on Wednesday for a 6:30pm tip-off.
Yavapai College Roughriders
It was a successful week for the Yavapai College baseball team as the Roughriders went 3-1 with a doubleheader sweep against Thompson River University on Wednesday and a split against Central Arizona College on Saturday. The team is now 12-10 overall but holds just a 1-5 record in conference action. Roughriders are back out on the road for a doubleheader against Eastern Arizona College on Tuesday at noon and 2pm.
Meanwhile, the softball team continues to tear up the league-winning their 11th and 12th game in a row from a doubleheader sweep on Saturday against Arizona Western College. Roughrider softball currently sports a 19-2 record with a sparkling 15-1 mark in conference action. The team is back on the field Tuesday for a doubleheader against Gateway Community College at 1pm and 3pm.
Embry Riddle Eagles
The Embry Riddle Eagles softball team picked up their first wins of the season in doubleheader splits against William Jessup University, Menlo College and Goshen College over the weekend. The team has a long way to go in order to recover from a rocky start as the team currently sports a 3-13 record. Next up is a triple-header on Friday against Eastern Arizona College at 10AM, Benedictine University at noon and Arizona Western College at 4pm.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns lost their second game in a row on Sunday falling to the Milwaukee Bucks 100-96 on the road. Phoenix has a disappointing 18-41 mark on the season and sit at the bottom of the western conference.
Arizona Coyotes
It was a good way to end the weekend for the Arizona Coyotes as the team ended their two game losing streak on Sunday with a 3-2 win against the Sabers at home. With a 22-37-7 record, the team heads out on the road for a three-game road trip starting against Boston on Tuesday at 5pm.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Spring has sprung as Major League Baseball Spring Training games are underway across the ballparks in the valley. Over the weekend the Arizona Diamondbacks lost their opening games against the Colorado Rockies and remain at Salt River Fields for a 1pm matchup today against the Cincinnati Reds.
