Crime Reporting Goes Online in Prescott
Reporting non-violent crimes to the City of Prescott just got easier. Individuals can log on to the computer and report incidents on the Citizen Online Reporting web page. There are a few requirements, however, as the person who reports may not know the suspect or have evidence that could lead to the identification of the suspect. Additionally, it must be a non-violent crime.

Proposed RV Project Well-Received from Neighbors and Community
Those who wish come to Prescott in an RV have experienced difficulty finding a good place to park. This may change if Kent Burger, the owner of Diamond B Properties can clear a few hurdles and open an RV Park at Rosser and State Route 69. The purposed resort would have 71 units where RVs can hook up and would cost $35-$40 a night for smaller areas while larger plots would cost $45-$50 a night.

City of Prescott Changes Recycling Rules
The town of Prescott has made a major chance in the way people recycle. In the past, residents would bag up their recyclable items. However, the city has decided to make a change and require the items to go into the bin with no bag as it took employees too long to handle the bagged items.

Bradshaw Mountain Chicho Program
Bradshaw Mountain High School took center stage at the Humboldt Unified School District Board meeting last week as Bradshaw Mountain principal Kort Minor explained the success of the Chicho program. Chicho stands for check-in, check-out as students who are admitted to the program must check-in and check-out with a teacher or administrator each day for two weeks to improve the attendance of a student and hopefully create a bond on campus. Currently, the program has a 50% success rate.

Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy
Citizens who wish to make a difference in their community have the opportunity to attend the Prescott Valley Police Department 2017 Citizen Police Academy beginning Tuesday February 21st at the Prescott Valley PD Training Room on 7601 E. Civic Circle. According to Heidi Dahms Foster, the eleven-week academy will provide an in-depth look at the mission, philosophy and operations of the department including the extensive training Prescott Valley Police Department officers receive before and during their service. Seating is limited to 30 and applicants must complete background checks according to Dahms Foster. The academy will run each Tuesday night from 6-9pm through May 2nd. There is no charge to participate.

On Stage
Fans of the theatre have two shows currently on stage in the quad cities. Currently showing at the Prescott Center for the Arts is Calendar Girls while a family theatre edition of Robin Hood is taking place at the Prescott Valley Performing Arts. Both shows are entering their final weekend.

Northern Arizona Suns
On Tuesday, the Northern Arizona Suns squeaked out a 125-120 victory over the Greensboro Swarm on the road to conclude the team’s longest road-trip of the year and entered the All Star break at 16-17. At the festivities in New Orleans, Johnny O’Bryant- who recently returned to the NAZ Suns from the Denver Nuggets- went 4 of 8 shooting in the D-League All Star Game to go along with a rebound. Meanwhile, former NAZ Suns player Derrick Jones Jr. showed why he is called “Airplane Mode” and opened eyes in the NBA Slam Dunk contest after taking second place in the event-even though he did not secure an NBA dunk before being named as a participant. The Northern Arizona Suns return home on Wednesday for a 6:30pm tip-off against the Windy City Bulls at the Prescott Valley Event Center.
