NAU Ice Jacks vs. GCU Lopes Hockey at the Prescott Valley Event Center

The Northern Arizona University Ice Jacks hockey team took both games against the Grand Canyon University Lopes at the Prescott Valley Event Center over the weekend. Check out Prescott ValleyeNews.com for pictures and game recaps. Ice Jacks are back at the Prescott Valley Event Center this weekend against the Arizona State University Sun Devils club hockey team. Game time is 7pm on Friday and Saturday.

Northern Arizona Suns

The Northern Arizona Suns were unable to pick up a win at the D-League Showcase losing Oklahoma City Blues and the Austin Spurs. After a hot start, the NAZ Suns have returned to earth and now sit at 12-12 with a 2-8 record in their last ten games. NAZ Suns are back on the court for a rematch with Austin Spurs in Texas for a 7pm tipoff on Thursday.

Prescott High School Badgers

The Prescott High School men’s basketball team was unable to pick up a win last week falling to the Mingus Marauders on Tuesday at home 69-44 and the Washington Rams 53-28 on the road Wednesday. Prescott High School is now 10-9 on the year with a 2-4 section record. Badgers will look to respond against Coconino on Tuesday in Flagstaff after Monday’s game against Coconino was cancelled due to the threat of winter weather.

The Badgers women’s basketball team was unable to pick up the win in a close game on Tuesday 44-40 against Mingus at home. After Monday’s road game against Coconino was cancelled due to winter weather, the Badgers will have a tough challenge on Wednesday against Flagstaff at home. Tipoff is 5:30pm.

Winter weather affected last week’s matches for the Prescott High School women’s soccer team as games against Lee Williams and Bradshaw were cancelled. However, the Badgers were able to pick up a win on Thursday before the storms rolled in beating Coconino at home 6-1. The Badger’s road game against Bradshaw was rescheduled for Tuesday at 4pm.

Meanwhile, the Badgers men’s soccer team was able to pick up their first two wins of the season with a 3-1 win against Coconino and a 3-2 victory against Lee Williams on the road. After Saturday’s game against Bradshaw was cancelled, the Badgers’ season ends on Tuesday at 6pm with a matchup against rival Bradshaw in Prescott Valley.

Bradshaw Mountain Bears

The Bradshaw Mountain Bears men’s basketball team was unable to pick up a win last week losing to Flagstaff 66-45 on the road Tuesday night. Bears end the three game road swing on Tuesday against Mingus with a 7pm tipoff.

The Bears women’s basketball team also didn’t have much luck last week losing to Flagstaff 67-29 on the road Tuesday. A long road streak comes to an end with Mingus on Tuesday at 5:30pm before returning home for a matchup against Mohave at 5:30pm on Friday.

It was a tough week for the Bradshaw Mountain Bears women’s soccer team with losses to Mingus on Tuesday at home and Mohave on the road Thursday. After Saturday’s game against Prescott High School was cancelled, the teams will play at 4 pm on Tuesday.

The Bears men’s soccer team won their fifth straight game on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Mohave. The game between Prescott and Bradshaw was also cancelled on Saturday and was rescheduled to Tuesday at 6pm.

Jacob Kidd, Olijah Sally and David Medevielle all went undefeated as the Bears wrestling team went 3-1 at a meet in Camp Verde. Bears return to the mat on Friday for a matchup in Chino Valley with the Cougars and Badgers.

Chino Valley Cougars

It was a good week for the Cougars men’s basketball team as Chino Valley picked up a win against Camp Verde 63-53 and River Valley 71-56. Cougars are now 13-10 on the year with a 2-2 section mark as they prepare for a game against Odyssey Institute on the road Tuesday at 7pm.

The Cougars girl’s basketball team didn’t have the same amount of luck as the team lost their 8th straight game on Friday 49-26 against River Valley. Cougars look to turn it around against Odyssey Institute Tuesday on the road at 5:30pm.

Embry Riddle Eagles

Embry Riddle Basketball didn’t have much success on the court Saturday against the University of Antelope Valley as the men’s team lost to 104-81 while the women’s team also fell 100-90. The team’s are back on the home court Thursday against Simpson University as the women play at 5:30pm and the men play at 7:30pm.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns picked up their second straight win on Sunday evening beating the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre 115-103. After a three game road-trip the Suns are back at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves at 7pm on Tuesday.

Arizona Coyotes

It wasn’t hard to score goals on Saturday night for the Arizona Coyotes as the team picked up five in route to a 5-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Gila River Arena on Saturday. Coyotes are back on the home ice tonight at 7pm against the Florida Panthers.
