Women's March Circles the Courthouse Square in Support of Diverse Issues
Hundreds of individuals joined millions of other people not only in Arizona but also across the United States on Saturday marching to bring awareness to various causes such as human kindness, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender rights, immigration and many other topics. The march in Prescott was one of the largest in years and entirely covered the courthouse square.

Two Killed In Single Vehicle Rollover Accident
According to Yavapai County Sheriff Office Media Relations Coordinator Dwight D’Evelyn, 44-year-old James Wayne Collins of Dewey and 46-year-old Rhonda Kay of Prescott Valley both died in a single vehicle rollover accident on January 18th around 9:45pm in Humboldt. According to the release, the vehicle was traveling west on Prescott Street when the vehicle left the roadway and struck rocks that apparently caused the vehicle to roll and crash through a fence before coming to rest on a roof. It was determined the victims were not wearing seat belts and both were ejected from the vehicle and found several yards away, the release stated.

Michael Duwayne Trujillo Arrested
Michael Duwayne Trujillo was arrested around 12:15pm on Thursday afternoon at a house in the 1300 block of Prairie Grass Lane in Chino Valley with no injuries after a standoff according to D’Evelyn. The scene involved multiple officers and patrol cars from the Chino Valley Police
Department and the Yavapai County Sherriff’s Office.
Trujillo was wanted for charges of child abuse and interfering with judicial processes according to a release from Chino Valley Officer Vince Shaan earlier this week. The investigation involved three minor children with age ranging from a one-year-old to a seven-year-old, the release stated.
Additionally, Earlier last week, the Chino Valley Police Department announced 26-year-old Tiffany Basham, from Chino Valley, was arrested in relation to the investigation for child abuse, endangerment, disobeying a judicial proceeding and neglect or abuse of a minor after an investigation indicated Basham not only allowed but encouraged Trujillo to be around the children even though a court order prohibited Trujillo from spending time with the one-year old and three-year-old.
According to the release from Shaan, injuries in the matter were inflicted on the one-year-old and seven-year-old children by Trujillo with the most heinous occurring to the one-year-old. The children were removed from the custody of Basham by the Department of Child Safety and are now residing with a responsible caregiver, the release stated.
Trujillo will be booked into the Yavapai County Jail.

Casino Night to Benefit BASIS Teachers
The Basis Prescott Boosters will be hosting a casino night fundraiser on February 7th from 6-10pm at the Prescott Resort Ballroom to raise funds for teachers and education programs. The event costs $50 per person or $75 per couple and will include blackjack, roulette, poker and many other games to go along with a silent auction. Northern Arizona Suns
The Northern Arizona Suns were unable to pick up a win at the D-League Showcase losing to the Oklahoma City Blues and the Austin Spurs. After a hot start, the NAZ Suns have returned to earth and now sit at 12-12 with a 2-8 record in their last ten games. NAZ Suns are back on the court at 7pm on Thursday for a rematch with the Austin Spurs in Texas.
