Ram Turquoise ProRodeo Circuit Finals Coming to Prescott Valley Event Center

More rodeo action is coming to the quad cities as the Prescott Valley Event Center and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) announced the Ram Turquoise ProRodeo Circuit Finals will be taking place at the Prescott Valley Events Center on October 5th-7th, 2017. The top participants from New Mexico and Arizona will be at the finals looking for a chance to win over $150,000 and a chance to reach the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida or the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Series of Burglaries to Unoccupied Homes

Prescott Police Department is seeking the public’s help after identifying a recent trend of residential burglaries according to Deputy Chief Bonney. According to the release, several homes, which were unoccupied at the time, have been burglarized over the past few months and appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, microwaves and toilets were removed by thieves. Community members are encouraged to report suspicious activity at unoccupied homes or general area. The release stated it is believed more than one suspect may be involved as there may be a second suspect driving a large vehicle capable of transporting the stolen goods, the release stated. The Departement is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Jack Shapiro of the Prescott Police Department at 928-777-1983 while callers who wish to remain anonymous and want a cash reward must contact Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.

Prescott Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

Bonney also announced this week that the Prescott Police Department arrested Ethan Osgood on January 4th on two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of marijuana and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. The release stated the investigation began in July of 2016 after receiving information about a Prescott man who may have been in possession of images of underage children.

Eleven Candidates Try For Prescott Valley Council Vacancy

Eleven eager participants who were looking to fill the vacant spot on the Prescott Valley Council stood up in front of members of the council, their fellow competitors and citizens on Thursday night at the Prescott Valley Public Library explaining how their experience related to the position and why they should be appointed by the council to be a representative of Prescott Valley. On Friday afternoon, the council picked Linda Cortright, Don Packard, Gary Roberts and Jody Rooney as finalists for the position. The final four will be at the council meeting at 5:30 on Thursday night at The Prescott Valley Public Library to face a round of questioning from the council members.

Individuals Brave Cold Water in Annual Polar Bear Splash

PHS Football Star Brady Mengarelli Reflects and Looks Forward

Many were impressed by the play of the Detroit Lions young running back Zach Zenner. South Dakota State was were Zenner called home for his collegiate career and taking his place since leaving on the Jackrabbits is PHS standout Brady Mengarelli who has lead the Jackrabbits in rushing the past two years since Zenner graduated. Northern Arizona Suns Drop Ninth Straight

The Northern Arizona Suns thought they were finally going to break the losing streak on Saturday night in Reno against the Bighorns before Lamar Patterson drained a go-ahead three pointer as time expired in overtime and beat the Suns 91-89. The NAZ Suns have now lost nine straight games after winning eight straight earlier. NAZ Suns look to turn it around on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Blue at the Prescott Valley Event Center. Tip-off is 6:30 pm.
